WW Wednesday

Yesterday, I burned 792 calories in Zumba and then went back for Body Combat and burned around the same (I forgot to turn my calorie counter off and it was over 800 when I remembered!).  So I earned 8 activity points yesterday! woo!

I love earning activity points because I will eat them before I go into any weekly flex points.  I haven’t wanted them though, so that’s good. I’m now more satisfied than calorie counting.  I feel full and happy and that headache is not there anymore.  Go me 🙂

Here is a recap of yesterday’s eats:

Food Points
mini babybel light 1
sandwich thin 1
better n pb 1 tbsp 1
ww soup 0
greek yogurt 1 cup 2
bbq baked chips 2
soy milk and ww cake 2
pizza 14
Total Points 23
Activity Points 8

I am hovering around 145.6 pounds and hope to get to 144 (the 10 pound mark) before we go on our trip next week!

Wednesday’s Wisdom 4

Got a couple of links for you this week:

Celebrity Diets are insane. You have the “juice fasts,” the “starve yourself 2 weeks before an event” diet, diet pills, lipo… and this one is right up there with them.

The Baby Food Diet – read here how celebrities are eating baby food all day.  We are adults people! And if you are a celebrity, can’t you hire a chef to make you healthy meals? Just sayin…

Snack Girl had a guest post featuring Annabel from Feed Me I’m Cranky.  She went from 280 pounds to 175 pounds! How inspiring! How Annabel lost 150 pounds!

Car Trip Eats Going on a road trip soon?  Need some healthier fast food?  Here are some snack ideas and fast food better choices.

Virgin Sprouts

I need more sprouts in my life.  I want to get even more servings of fruits and veggies in my life and today I decided to experiment with brussel sprouts. I’ve heard of many people roasting them, but had yet to try them myself.

I bought this microwaveable bag at Trader Joe’s.  That’s pretty cool that you can microwave them in the bag for a quick side dish, but I had roasting on the brain.

 Food Blog July1 005

I preheated the oven to 425 degrees and started to trim the bases off of the sprouts.

Food Blog July1 008

And then cut them in half.

I put them on a pan with non stick spray and lots of salt and pepper!

I roasted them for about 20 minutes, tossing once halfway through.

Served with a fajita leftover from dinner last night.

WW Day 2

So back when I was on Weight Watchers, it was hard at first, but then got easier.  It turns on I haven’t steered too far of the WW path.  I am finding it pretty easy and I get to eat more than I did calorie counting.  It may work for some people, but frankly, it just made me cranky.  So do what works right?

I love Weight Watchers because you can easily turn it into a lifestyle.  No, not a diet.  I don’t consider myself on a diet.  We learned in WW that the first 3 letters in diet are D-I-E.  Do you seriously want to lose weight the wrong way?  I have to eat.  I don’t live to eat, I eat to live.  If I don’t eat I am down right grumpy. So I am happier on WW because I can eat!! You just have to find meals and snack low in points.  It’s all about the fiber.  If you screw up your whole day by eating like crazy (every female has 2 weeks out of the month where they want to eat eat eat and I swear 2 days that I want to eat the entire pantry!) it doesn’t affect you that much.  You just start fresh the next day.  I love that.  It’s not like “I eat a brownie and my whole diet is shot and I should just give up.” “Or I am going to eat whatever I want and start over Monday.” Stop waiting for Monday. Do it now.  Get out of that mentality of you ate some cookies and now you are going to gain all of your weight back.  Nope, sorry, not gonna happen!

You can have cookies, brownies, pizza, whatever you want IN MODERATION!! Counting points is so easy for me.  I have already gone through the refrigerator and marked every package with the points value per serving.  That way, when you are going to eat the whole house, you can know what the points value of a serving is, and not even have to think about it.  Ok, ok, off my WW soap box. I’m just saying, if nothing else is working for you, you should try it.  I already feel better!

Today I have a mini babybel light before the gym.  I love those 🙂 And then I burned 775 calories in spinning class (RPM).  I worked my booty off today for an hour.  That’s 3 activity points.  So, if I want to eat 3 more points today, I can.  🙂

I came back home, showered, and looked through my new cookbook!

 Food Blog July1 004

I got this book last night at Barnes and Noble.  I have the first one, and this is the 3rd. I may go back and get the second, this one just looked better.

This morning I made egg mug florentine.  Eggs and spinach mmm.  I put a little Frank’s on it, because eggs are just better with hot sauce!

Eggs in a mug are pretty easy clean up!

I am off to pick the poor rotten tomatoes off my plant and spray an epsom salt mixture on them.

And then I am going to read Wicked.  The husband is off fishing, so hopefully I can read a lot!

Lucy’s Cookies

I got a package!

Food Blog June 29 007

And it was full of cookies!

Food Blog June 29 008 Food Blog June 29 011Food Blog June 29 009 Food Blog June 29 010

Lucy’s Cookies are gluten free and are NOT made with “milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts.”  So if you or someone in your family has food allergies, than these cookies are for you.

The husband and I broke into them that night.  We weren’t shy. I had one of each.  I mean, I had to review them 😉

Food Blog June 30 001 Food Blog June 30 002 Food Blog June 30 003 Food Blog June 30 004 Food Blog June 30 005 Food Blog June 30 006 Food Blog June 30 007 Food Blog June 30 008 Food Blog June 30 009 Food Blog June 30 010 Food Blog June 30 011 Food Blog June 30 012 Food Blog June 30 013 Food Blog June 30 014

The cinnamon thins were my favorite!  They were all good, but cinnamon is the best!  If you like cookies with crunch, then these will not disappoint.  I am a soft cookie kind of girl, but these are a tasty treat if you are in the mood for some crunch.  The husband keeps digging in the boxes, so they must be good!  Definitely worth a try! Thanks to Lucy’s for sending me the samples 🙂

I love companies that reach out to people with food allergies.  I do not have any, but I would hate to be deprived of anything (especially cookies!) because of something I cannot help.  It makes me appreciate companies like this even more!

Disclaimer: As a food blogger, I am often sent samples of products to try. I do not get paid for reviewing products.  I give my honest opinion and if I do not like something, then I will say so.  I just give you the facts!  However, there is not much I won’t eat 😉

Wednesday’s Wisdom Part Trois

I didn’t have too much time to research this past week with my secret vacation and all 🙂

Here is what I have for you today:

Health.com posted 50 Fattiest Foods in you guessed it America! Portions are growing and so are bellies! Here is the link: 50 Fattiest Foods in the States – Pretty Gross!

Instead of eating one of those big fat fatty meals, you could try this: 5 ingredient dinners for $3 or less Eatingwell.com knows what’s best! Eat these meals because they are cheaper, better for you and will keep your belly in check!

ivillage.com came up with a list of Superfoods.  Each has a picture, explanation of why they are super, what they have in them and a tips to make better choices about them.

Snack Girl came up with a list of healthy beach snacks.  This will keep you away from the ice cream and hot dog stands that can be packed with calories you don’t want or need.  And if you are going to the beach, I’d like to be invited 😉 Just sayin…

I’ll be back later with my meals, workouts (yes 2 of them) and a product review.
