Long time no see

So what has been doing on in my life for like the last month?  First of all, I cannot believe it’s already August!! Yuck! That means back to work for me soon.  I have enjoyed this summer off so much.  There is one thing that is annoying…I’ve been exhausted! I’m going to the doctor tomorrow and getting my iron and vitamin D checked.  I swear there is something low.  I mean I do just stuff around the house and go to the gym like once a day for an hour.  That isn’t supposed to wear me out! I’m supposed to get more energy from the gym!

This summer we’ve been to Charleston, Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, and Wilmington a couple of times.  I went to Wilmington a couple days last week to visit my friends from middle school-Shannon and Jada.  They both have 2 little girls-so weird!! It was fun.  I played with the babies my mom watches and we had some shopping time. 

Then last Thursday my friend Shelby and I went to the outlets in Smithfield.  I got a dress, 3 shirts and three pairs of pants in a size 6.  Yep, that’s right! I said size 6.  I am not 141.2 pounds and a size 6. 🙂 I was ecstatic!!! Just wait until I’m a 4.  There will be tears kids, tears!

The husband has been out a workshop.  He went last week, came home over the weekend and then was off again last night.  I wish he would have stayed the over the weekend too.  I mean, I love seeing him, but it made me miss him more.  This has been the longest we haven’t seen each other.  So I sleep with the tv on and play with Zoey.  We are doing just fine.

Last night I had a date with this book.

I am really enjoying it, but it is sad so far! I have always been interested in the Holocaust and things that went on back in the forties, so this book is very interesting to me.  If you ever go to DC, go to the Holocaust museum. Get your tissues ready!

I also got Moe’s for dinner.  I got the kids Moo Moo Mr. Cow.  It’s a little burrito and it comes with tortilla chips and a little drink.  And a cookie! I couldn’t understand a damn thing that woman was saying because she had a strong accent! So when she asked me if I wanted a cookie, I had to get her to repeat herself.  I never turn down a cookie!

I then decided to have a glass of wine.  After working up a sweat I’ve decided our wine opener sucks and I will be getting a new one.  Wine opener: 1 Krista: 0.  And that’s all I have to say about that.

Froyo Fanatic

The hubby and I had to get some engagement pictures developed today so we decided to run some fun errands too.  I took engagement pictures in Wake Forest last Monday and I am super excited how they turned out.  I have gotten lots of comments from a lot of my family and friends so that makes me even more excited.

Today we went to Chick fil a for lunch.  I was starving because I only had a granola bar this morning.  I was busy sweeping and mopping today and didn’t have time to eat a bigger breakfast.  I had the chargrilled and fruit salad with berry balsamic vinaigrette.  Yum!

We went to Trader Joe’s (my fave grocery store) to get some snacks for our road trip to Hotlanta this week.  Did I mention how excited I am to gamble at Cherokee?  I love love love the casino! I only play on the penny and nickel machines, but it’s a rush 😉

And then we hit up The Skinny Dip Frozen Yogurt!  It just opened right by TJ’s.  They have the nutritional info and WW points listed on their website.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I was home! I had Strawberry, and York Peppermint Patty.  I could only eat 4 ounces so I ate half of this.  I gotta remember to weigh every little bit.  The husband didn’t mind finishing it off.  Next time, I’m hitting up that toppings bar!

So you grab a cup, fill it with froyo and toppings and then you pay based on weight.  It’s only 39 cents an ounce.  I am in love!! I am beyond stoked about that place.  Guilt free froyo.  mmmm! We will be back again and again!!

I got some yummy snacks for the trip.  Road trips make me nervous because we go out to eat a lot and I don’t know what the points value is for a lot of it.  Thank goodness for guidebooks, weeklies, and eating half of my food! Wish me luck! I am so nervous.  I love vacationing, but I am not the type of person to splurge on vacation.  I still keep myself on track.  I mean, why can’t you still eat what you want, but in smaller quantities?  I don’t ever “splurge” or “go off my diet.” I eat what I want in moderation. On WW you are not on a diet.  It’s a lifestyle.  When you get to goal, you are still on WW, not a diet.  That’s why I love this program-it’s not a quick fix.  It’s for life.  So if I want cake, I’m eating it.  That’s why it works for me. I just plan ahead.  Love it!!

Happy 4th!!!

Well after a few months of this calorie counting business, I’ve decided it is just not working for me.  It’s sllllooooooooowwwwwww and I can’t eat as much as I’d like. On Weight Watchers, I could eat way more so I am going back on that. On my own. Dun dun dun!

Today went pretty well. I get 23 points a day and 35 flexies a week.

Workin’ It

Yesterday we had the usual Saturday Cracker Barrel breakfast. I had the fruit and yogurt platter.

I did not eat that million calorie muffin and had one piece of toast with sugar free blackberry jelly.

For lunch I had a bowl of rice krispies and soy milk-the lunch of champions. We then took a long nap.  When we woke up we were ready to go to Cary.

We went to Dick’s Sporting Goods first where I picked out this – it’s a HRM and calorie counter.  Since I am counting calories and working out, I want to see how many calories I burn during my classes at the gym.

I can’t have it until the 28th, but I’m excited about it!

For dinner we had Chick-fil-a.  I love the spicy chicken sandwiches! mmmm and we are trying to save money, so we are eating on the cheap lately.

I then went to ZUMBA! Zumba is a dance workout where you are constantly moving for an hour.  I was nervous because I haven’t taken dance since high school. My cousin Cayla and my really good friend Shelby went with me.  It was Sunday morning so I expected the class to be small, but it turned out to be just us and an older lady. 

I laughed and laughed.  It was so much fun.  If you just stop caring how stupid you look and laugh at yourself, you have a blast!  I will be taking that class again!!

Gym Rat

Ok, I’ve been to 3 RPM’s and 1 Body Pump.  That is 4 days in a row!!!!! Crazy for me.  But I am feeling good.  I’m telling you, that RPM is addicting. 

After posting yesterday, I split a 100 calorie Jolly Time + Frank’s Red Hot with the husband.

For dessert we had chocolate tortillas.  I learned this recipe when I was in Weight Watchers a few years ago.  Take 2 tortillas (I used Trader Joe’s Reduced Carb tortillas) and one tbsp of semi-sweet chocolate chips.  Heat on a griddle or frying pan until chocolate starts to melt and sprinkle chips with cinnamon sugar.

Addiction

So yesterday, I was soooooo tired! I napped forever and then fell asleep on the couch. I didn’t know was was wrong with me. Then I see the husband drinking a cherry coke zero and I figured it out.  I didn’t have any caffeine yesterday.  I usually have 1-2 cups of coffee a day.  I had a headache and was so tired.

So this morning I fixed that.  I have a cup of hazelnut coffee and felt so much better.  No nap, no headache.  That is a problem! I need to wean myself off of coffee!! I don’t drink soda that much, so I don’t have a big addiction, but I do like some strong coffee!

Speaking of calories, my sister introduced me to My Fitness Pal to track my food and calories. So easy! Check it out! It tells you how many calories you need to lose weight and helps you reach your goal.  I am going to use this now!

Victoria’s Secret started their semi-annual sale today. I got 2 bras and 3 pairs of undies.  I just can’t buy $50 bras.  I’d rather get them on sale!

We ate in the food court.  The husband got Chick-fil-a and I got subway.

6” turkey on honey oat, hold the cheese and a small bag of Baked BBQ lays.

Sweet Summertime

Today was super relaxing.  I went to a RPM class at 8:30 this morning with my friend Shelby.  It was tough!  I was out of breath for a lot of it, but was told “if you are out of breath, you are not out of shape, you are working hard” so that made me feel better.

Before the gym I was starving so I ate a half of a sandwich thin and some super chunky pb.

Let me tell you that these were the most amazing burgers! Soooooo good!!!!!!!!! 🙂
